Little

Celebration milestone backgrounds

6 designs

Six backdrops for the dates that only come round once in a first year. Two are about age, birthday and half birthday, and four are about the first time your family marked something together with a new person in the room. These are the mats most likely to be printed, framed or sent to relatives, so they are worth a little more care than an ordinary month.

Every celebrations background in Little

  • Birthday

Confetti and candles for the twelve-month mat, and for any month that ended in a party.

  • Half Birthday

A quieter version of Birthday for the six-month mark. The most underused design in Little.

  • First Christmas

Pine, warm lights and deep red. Pairs naturally with the Winter seasonal scene for a December pair.

  • First Diwali

Diyas and warm gold. Rich enough that a close crop of your baby's face works better than a wide shot.

  • First Eid

Crescent and lantern motifs in green and gold, for a first Eid al-Fitr or Eid al-Adha.

  • First Halloween

Pumpkins and dusk purple, gentle rather than spooky. The best partner for a costume photo.

First holidays are a one-shot photo

A monthly mat can be redone next month. A first Diwali cannot. That changes how to approach it: take more photos than you need on the day, in better light than you would normally bother with, and pick the mat afterwards. The four holiday backgrounds are all busy by design, so the photo that works best is usually a close crop with your baby's face large in the frame, not a wide shot of the whole outfit, however good the outfit is.

Birthday and half birthday as bookends

Half Birthday is the most underused background in Little. Six months is a genuine turning point, usually the month sitting up and solid food arrive, and marking it gives the first-year collage a centre rather than just a run of numbers. Using Half Birthday at six and Birthday at twelve, with the same crop and the same badge style, makes the two read as a pair across the grid, which is a small thing that makes the finished collage look composed.

Questions about celebrations backgrounds

Will more holidays be added?
The suggestion form is the fastest way to influence what comes next, and holiday designs are among the most requested additions.
Can I use a celebration background outside its month?
Nothing stops you. Birthday and Half Birthday in particular get used for any month worth making a fuss of.
